Dr. Mareike Großhauser is active at the Olympic Training Centre Rhineland-Palatinate/Saarland, in the working group of the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) for nutrition topics at the Olympic Training Centres, in the DGE expert group on sports nutrition, in numerous advanced training courses for coaches as well as supporting individual sports associations. The focus of her work is on sports nutrition. As a former middle-distance runner, she knows the needs and challenges of competitive sports very well. In addition to the IOC Sport Nutrition Diploma, she has completed a nutritional medicine training in order to also keep a closer eye on the topic of health, as the most important prerequisite for athletic performance development. Her publications include specialist nutrition books such as Nutrition in Sport for Vegetarians & Vegans, Basics of Nutrition in Triathlon or The Kona Code (co-author).

"Professional athletes serve as role models. Their health- and climate-conscious nutritional behaviour certainly also has a positive influence on socially relevant processes of change. I would like to see more "FairPlay" for a better climate!"
