Nils Jakubzig works as a research assistant at the University of Konstanz in the Department of Social and Health Sciences. In his doctoral thesis, he is focussing on education for sustainable development (ESD) and active play. The focus is on investigating how active, nature-based play can be used as a tool for ESD in families. The aim of the research is to develop and test new methodological concepts, interventions or programmes in order to link ESD with movement, play and sport. The combination of empirically guided development and practical application is at the centre of his work. He is also involved in the BMWK-funded project
‘raus! Gemeinsam spielerisch Klimaschutz erleben‘ (’Out! Experiencing climate protection together through play"), where he is involved in the development of an ESD toolbox for families.
In his spare time, Nils Jakubzig is a keen outdoor sportsman and scout. Above all, his many years of activity in the youth scouting movement help him to broaden the scientific perspective on ESD with a practical one.
