Dr Matthias Zimlich works as a research assistant at the Sports Centre of the Julius-Maximilians-University of Würzburg. In his school sports research, he has long focussed on sports education issues relating to inclusive physical education and physical education at special schools. His current teaching and research interests are focussed on education for sustainable development (ESD) and in particular how the concept of education can be interpreted in the context of ESD. In the context of his teaching for prospective PE teachers, it is important to him to sensitise them to the topic and to act as potential multipliers.
Matthias Zimlich is a founding member and long-standing coordinator of „NO LIMITS – Netzwerk Inklusionssport Mainfranken“.
